Well, its occured to me, that i would absolutely LOVE to lose weight, now i know for many people that is alwasys something difficult to achieve, i currently weigh 85kg, but am kinda embarrased about going out to places such as the beach or pool. i am 17 & 1/2 years of age, play soccer as a sport, & am in my last year of school. but what i really would like to know is if there is a specific diet of what kind of foods i should be eating to lose weight, like day by day typed, not neccesarily fast, but effectively, i know that it is also just as important to eat well as to do regular exercise, so what is my best option?

1Losing weight by healthy eating is very important. You definitely do not want to starve yourself or start on some stupid pills, so I commend you for realizing that eating healthy, coupled with exercise, is the only way to lose weight.
I follow this rule. Eat from nature first. Eat foods in their natural form, ones that still look like they did when they were growing. Then add in some whole grains such as brown rice and oats. Add some beans. Then have some baked white meat or salmon. Avoid red meat. Eating natural foods first helps fill you up with nutritious, low-fat foods instead of processed, chemically-generated "versions" of food.
I recommend the book "You On a Diet" as it teaches you not only what to eat, but what your body does in response to food. This helps you see why you need to eat healthy foods for life-not just until you drop some weight. The book also has a food plan and recipes. It also has an exercise plan. I know you play soccer, which is great, but some planned exercise is also necessary.
