How does Healthy Living Essentials and Cigarrest get away charging Debit cards without notice?

I was charged $1.00 on 9/28 by Living Essentials and then charged $69.90 on the 29th. This was done without my approval.
I even called Cigarrest not to send anymore but got charged anyways. This has also cost me $40.00 in NSF charges. I want my money back. This is a scam.

Answers:

1Go to your bank tomorrow (Take your card with you.) and report this charge as fraudulent. Request them to to hot card your debit card. So no more recurring charges can appear. If your debit card has a MasterCard or Visa. Tell them your are claiming their zero liability policy. You should get that money back plus your NSF charges and be removed from either check systems or telcheck

IF they won't do the zero policy. They must do this under the EFTA. Either way you should get your money back.

According to the Ftc
unauthorized transfers involving only your debit card number (not the loss of the card), you are liable only for transfers that occur after 60 days following the mailing of your bank statement containing the unauthorized use and before you report the loss.
